I hope I'm doing this right... (if not, sorry ;)).

Pretty impressive seeing the amount of different images people generate using one original - will have to give that a go later.

There's no right or wrong way. Whatever you care to experiment with is fine.

Welcome to the addiction. ;o)

Three 90 degree flips blended with difference:
plus a number of rotations and a flip horizontal:

I had already worked over this oil derrick pretty completely -
flips and spirals may be gilding the lily.

Just to prove to myself that I still remember how to create the traditional, mandala-like flip-n-blend, I give you:

SpongeBear SquarePants! (don't ask)

Two others based on the cello bridges hanging on a wire that I used yesterday.

I've been trying to find some starting images with less complex blocks of color so as to not create such a mess of tiny specks all the time, so I took a macro of one of the envelopes I get prints in:
I made these without the last 90 degree rotation: amazingly, the only difference between these two is this Curves adjustment

Simple but pretty (in my mind). This is a remix of a photo I should have entered in the yellow challenge.

This one is just a single horizontal flip, and difference mode. No other processing at all. It was screaming at me to stop right there...

It's a sperm whale skeleton at the New Bedford Whaling Museum...

A few more flips than what Robert did on the whale skeleton.

Rooftop and smoke stack.

Warped building reflection:

Can I remember all the steps? Heck no. :D

Several rotations, each layer blended with lighten. Highlight/shadow applied to the final result along with brightening, sharpening, clarifying the centre.
