I am not sure why but can't Langdon come up with better ideas for challenges? There are hundreds of new good ideas out there.
Langman, you have to refresh the ideas on your dart board... keep hitting the same stuff lately. |

Pretty good mix, lately. All the ones in voting are new ones. Just had the Posthumous Challenge - that was different! And there are always new members who didn't get to do something the first five times. :-) And some of the old standbys are more popular with the users and get more entries than some of the newer, more unusual stuff. Orange, odd color though it is, had more entries than any of the "new" challenges in voting at the moment. Gotta keep the balance. That said, I do like seeing new Roman-numberless challenges most of the time! |

I think we'd do better if he let the Site Council pick the topics and rotate turns amongst them and whoever picks would not be allowed to enter. |

I echo this idea. |

I don't know... we've know a good chuck of the SC. Do we really want to leave ourselves in their hands? :P
(I agree -- let the SC pick for awhile. :)

actually -- I think this is one well worth repeating. It's an angle that many people forget. This is the type of challenges I like seeing -- motion blur, posthumous, ground up, style of nixter, etc. Things that get you experimenting with technique a little more than usual.

I ask Langdon to make 2011 NO REPEAT YEAR
...then 2012 start all those roman numbers again... Since world will end in 2012!

I'm all in favor of repeating certain challenges frequently, and this is one of them. We tend to get stuck in our eye-level POV and never even consider getting down low, but it's a very useful thing to do. It's a lot harder for me the older I get, though :-)
From my perspective, the more we try to emphasize "new" challenges, the more we tilt towards the ridiculous and irrelevant.

Points to ponder... We've had 11280 users register since From the Ground Up V, so this is a brand new topic for all of those people (even if only a fraction participate). The first five challenges YOU entered were also repeats. Even for people who have entered the challenge before, there is a benefit to revisiting the topic to try new ideas, new equipment and learn from past experience. Of the 47 "approved" upcoming challenge topics in the database, only 9 are repeats. If you'd like to see more unique topics, then suggest some! |

Now that's sounded like a joke (no offense) but we already are making hundreds of suggestions... aren't we? and they do seem like unique! |

Just because they're unique, doesn't mean they're good. I'm sorry, the butt crack challenge just doesn't do it for me.

Ok, that's one out of the way, around 297 left to consider. |

That one is already in the database. I see a few others suggested in recent threads (nowhere near "hundreds"), and many of those are already listed, too. Any viable suggestion with a title and challenge description will generally be added to the database. Langdon's always looking for new topics, and really good suggestions will often be run within weeks. |

People... you heard the man. It's time to start using our brains for real, and come up with HUNDREDS of ideas... quick.
...seems like DPC database is running out of "data" and looping itself

Nine out of my top fifteen scores are "Rerun" challenges. One of my two blues was a "Rerun", and an upward move from my 7th place the "Rerun" before.
I'm pretty much a fan of the challenges deemed "Reruns".

You seem to be the most upset by "reruns". Why don't you post a list of good ideas here now? |

Because this is the Rant forum, and we don't usually look for good ideas there ...
Challenge suggestions belong in the Challenge Suggestions section of the forums. |

I offered him a hat challenge (even there was suggestion for it, an maybe it is in the database)... I know I am not as famous as Don, however, I asked him (Langdon), I will keep my last three DPC hats to giveaway for all ribbon winners of that challenge... and I also told him I wasn't going to enter to it, just to make it fare. but, I have none left now.
I started to think he just loves roman numerals. |

Now I know why this one was never picked. It only had about 25 suggestions for it...

Why not ask the members first? You seem to want to change a lot but you're not asking anyone here if they also want change. Your complaining is what I want changed. :þ
Oh I forgot
Muhuhahahahahah blah
