| Hi all! I'm new here and would like to know what you guys think of some of my photographs. I'm not sure I'm ready to completely commit to paying on the site until I feel the waters so to speak. So my question is can I post a link to my deviantArt gallery or do I need to do it individually and can I even link to that site? Sorry if this question doesn't belong here, but I'm planning on posting my work on this thread as soon as I find out what the right way to go about it is. |

There's a short waiting period before you can post links. If you post the pictures from DA directly (hot-link), please don't post any pictures wider than 500 pixels -- post a thumbnail or text link to the full-sized image instead.
Note that you can "try out" a membership here for a month for only $5, so you can see whether the additional features (like being able to post pictures in your portfolio here, additional challenges, etc.) are worth it to you.
The Forum Rules and the Challenge Rules are under the Help menu.

The site council may move this to the "Welcome Center" part of the forums.
Registered users are welcome to enter the "Open" challenges. Be sure that you first read one of the threads about how to preserve the original camera file, and have the time and date right in your camera.
I think that if you post a good URL, then someone who is a paid member will come along and repost it as a link for you. Paid members can post thumbnail links to their portfolio images on the forum threads.
You should have a look at the top and bottom photos in a few of the challenges or browse the "Photos" link at the top of the page to see what works here. You may also want to look at the photos in the DQ section at the last page of each challenge, and see the common reasons for DQ.
