Held up nicely overnight, I'm surprised it's doing this well.

An expected cliche shot for this topic, but I'm sure some of them are better and more creative than the others. Hey, it's not wine glasses.

Very under-appreciated, but I like the work image a lot. |

At 33 votes now. The first 20 voters pushed my score real high but the last 13 voters looks to me have all given me a 1 or a 2 as I have dropped a whopping 1.8 in the last 13 votes. Very strange voting pattern. And also some of the first 20 voters might have gone over their score again and revised it downwards. |

I thought scoring was an individual's choice or did I misunderstand the rules?? Are there any rules I missed?
My own way of scoring is as follows:
1 - never gave a 1, just participating in a challenge deserves at least a 2
2 - really bad taste TO ME
3 - poor, or below average DNMC
4 - below average, or average DNMC
5 - average, or good DNMC
6 - good, or very good DNMC
7 - very good
8 - outstanding
9 - incredible
10 - a masterpiece, very rare, DNMC not even considered as an issue in this case
DNMC just loses 1 point in the middle ground of below average 3 to very good 7. I do not care about DNMC if IMHO the photo is outstanding, incredible or a masterpiece;. I try to focus on the quality and the originality of the photo as it appeals TO ME. I go through all entries once with 6 being the highest score then go the second time through 6s only and revise scores up for those that I considered the best.
I put quite a lot of thought into the way I score, I thought it was fair and I would be disappointed if it breaches DPC rules :/

Somebody is having some fun adjusting their votes. I took a leap upward earlier with +15 in one vote. Now I had a downward adjustment of -9 with no vote change.

I actually don't get this anymore.
40 Vote check-in. I am now at 5.0750
At 20 votes I had been steady at 6.2 but ever since then have been dive bombing without any climbing at all. That means that for the last 20 votes all votes have been at around 1 or 2 according to my calculations. This whole voting pattern does just not make sense to me |

Mathematically:
40 x 5.0750 = 203
20 x 6.2000 = 124
203-124 = 79
79/20 = 3.95 average for the those 20 votes.
But, that does not take into consideration vote shifts amongst the first 20 votes.

During voting, it's not okay to call out individual images and promote or tarnish them. |

This does NOT make SENSE to me anymore. Only going down down down....so why did 20 voters first vote me up to 6.2 only for the next 22 voters to vote me down. Does NOT make sense! It's far too drastic to make sense.

That was reality for me in the last rubber duckie challenge. Could not find one of the right size for what I wanted to do with it.

Voting is subjective and I score highly for originality. As I said twice before I did think they were good photos but not outstanding.

There are no rules to scoring other than you can't score strait 1's or strait 10's on every photo. I was just trying to point out that just because you don't like a certain kind of shot doesn't mean you should point it out and let everyone know. I probablly shouldn't have pointed out that I like those shots either. But I was just trying to counterbalance your negative with a possative. I don't think we should discuss certain shots during the challenge either way, like or dislike. I am deleting my post and I think you should too. |

That's fair enough, telling me how to vote is not.
