Help me out here. A few weeks ago, the most outspoken critics of the president were demanding that we impose a no-fly zone, and slamming Obama for his reluctance over military intervention. McCain was outspoken in demanding a no-fly zone. Palin called for a no-fly zone. Huckabee, Pawlenty and Santorum all pushed for a no-fly zone in one form or another. McConnell wanted to aid and arm the insurgents and said a no-fly zone was worth considering. Gingrich didn't even want to wait for the U.N. or NATO to approve a no-fly zone. Bob Menendez introduced a Senate resolution condemning âthe gross and systematic violations of human rights in Libyaâ and suggesting the United States consider imposing a no-fly zone that passed unanimously on March 1. So then Obama agrees to commit limited forces to support a U.N. resolution that our closest allies championed and suddenly congress wasn't consulted on a war that engage us for years. WHAT?!?!

Naw, you must be confusing him with that woman from up north somewhere... you know, the one who writes on her hands.

Sure enough, the question is specifically about bombing Iran, yet Obama's response isn't specific to Iran, he doesn't even mention Iran until he mentions his pet resolution, SJ Res 23.

Given that the question was specifically about Iran, why would he need to mention it at all?

That is why our government isn't getting anywhere. They like to slam each other and point at each other's faults, yet anything gets resolved.

Everyone is too focused on their own agenda and not for the best interest of this country.

His answer was in the general case, yet he only addresses the specific case when he mentions his legislation. Had he not indicated the last portion was specific to Iran, the entire response might be considered as specific to the scope of the question. He didn't.

It's not the actions that he took to engage Libya. I think kicking Ghaddafi in his low hanging fruits is the right thing to do.

It's the fact that he said one thing about the president's right to engage the military in conflict while a senator and acted contrary to that statement when he was in the driver's seat.

Kinda like what he said about closing GTMO, as well.
