We have no "new power", unfortunately. |

The WPLs and TPLs were incredibly wonderful -- but I did like the ease of the DPL's the best, because of the private threads.
I vote DPL! |

This being an Olympic year... Perhaps we could have the DPC Olympics again, instead. Then a week after the final challenge, we could invade a small country and make part of it our own... |

So we're invading the Netherlands? Seems like an odd choice... |

Why? Beautiful girls, Van Gogh museum, (a lot of stuff we are supposed not to talk of) and a dinner at hajeka's house - it seems ok for me :) |

Ok. I'm sold. Do we have to wait until after the olympics? I don't feel like making dinner tonight... |

C'mon up here; I've just made some Vichyssoise... Can't go wrong with potatoes and leeks, now can you? |

Well... I probably could... but you probably couldn't. :) |

There may be NO easier-to-make "high end" dish than a classic Vichyssoise. Sweat leeks in butter. Add salt and pepper. Add chicken stock and cook until leeks are soft. Add already cooked dice of potatoes (from a separate pan where you boiled them), heat through, puree all to velvety smoothness in batches in a blender, add cream, cool, served with chopped chives. And it tastes fine hot too. Quantities of potatoes, leeks, and stock will be roughly equal: 2 cups each of the solids, maybe more like 3 cups of the liquid... Easy Peasy. |
