Jon I have to be honest and let you know that I really don't like animated banners. I'd prefer to see it not moving, or if it cycled through only once or twice and then stopped :)

I highly recommend going to Your Preferences Page and selecting the "Hide Signatures" option. Makes viewing the forums a lot nicer... |

I'm mostly a lurker, but I have to agree with mandyp about the animated banner thing. If the animation is key to the composition of the banner, it's usually acceptable, but if it's a looping fade or a wipe where the sole purpose is to grab the viewer's attention, it's kind of annoying.

I agree. I think we are all quite proud of the fact that we have managed to date to keep this an ad-free site for members and registered users alike. The major reason we have tried to do this is to keep this type of distracting clutter to a minimum.
Jon, please do consider reducing both the size and intrusiveness of your signature logo.
Thanks,
Terry

Continuous, repetitive animation is annoying. Even the animated emoticons that are starting to infect the forum. Some of them are quite cute -- the first time I see it.
Please, cycle once if at all.

You missed the first close bracket in the URL.
