Did anyone else have a really hard time choosing one picture to submit for this challenge? I know I did, i mean how do you pick which one pic. will represent your best work. I was going to submit this one or this one , but 2 minutes before the cut off I chose another one, just wondering what you folk thought,.. I had 4 that I couldnt decide on, so i ended up closing my eyes and picking one.. good luck to me i guess.

I pretty much did the same thing. I love taking photos of old barns and whatever but this week I entered something unlike my normal photos. It was fun and I really feel good about this week. This is the second time I can say I really love my photo and feel good about it. That to me is what's important. This was a fun week !

btw...I owe you lunch:)

Yeah that would be fun Angel. Maybe things will straighten out at work this week and I can take my three days of vacation that I missed and we could meet up somewhere one afternoon.

Well....I went with the picture I had set out to produce... even though I captured something else in the meantime that is getting great reviews on another site. I've done that before (in Transparency) - went with my intention even though my gut was telling me to choose otherwise. I can't tell you I'm completely dissappointed, and I love my photo very much. I wonder if I would do the same thing anyway if given a chance to turn back the clock? - Probably. I'm just stubborn that way. I have to admit that I was also swayed by the impending "kid photo" critique, so I was trying to do something different, although "Beach Fun" is different, too.... (See, still can't decide.... and the voting pushes on).

Karen, I love your beach fun photo. Beautiful! I might have to try that one myself.

Thanks, Sonja! I have to say I was a bit nervous to be standing in the path of incoming waves with my new camera! But I had fun doing it, and was so pleased when I put it into Photoshop to tweek it. I printed it out as an 8X10. Going to frame it. A small gallery is beginning to form in my dining room so that we can appreciate "life as we see it" during family dinners, or entertaining guests. :-)

YES. I changed submissions twice, before finally deciding on one. I had to decide on a technically "perfect", but beautiful photo, and one that I just took sunday evening, that didn't come out wonderfully, but was much more emotionally powerful. We'll see if I chose right!

(so far, i've gotten in the 6's. A lot better than my first submission)

Besides being unsure I submitted the right one, I just thought up two better titles for the one I did submit.

Did free study get typoed last week and some people didn't notice ? Seemed more like it was a 'bee study' this week...

The only thing bugging* me about my submission this week is before I submitted it, I tried cropping part of the image out... but I liked the uncropped dimensions a bit more, so I submitted the original. Now about the only negative comment I''m getting is I should have cropped this part out!! And I was going to but didnt!! Oh well... I learned something, and that is to be more critical of my own submission quality photos before I submit them.

*pun not intended, my photo wasn''t of a bug ;)

Neil, I gotta say, your shots are really making me miss San Diego. I was born and raised there, now living near Portland OR (by choice). There are only a few things I miss about living in SD, and the beaches are by far and away at the top of my list. Keep up the good work...

I really enjoyed those "free study" photos, they were the best pictures that we have come up with so far as a whole. I did not enter a good one for I was not in the right place that week. I would have given some of the poorer images a better score just for trying if I had not been forced to vote before I could enter this week's contest. I have been busy and wanted to do it at a later date. I did scored high for a whole because they were good photographs.
