Decided not too enter as my image taken from my balcony would probably not be considered a night silhouette plus it's not really a proper silhouette either. It was in fact taken at night but the sun here in Holland sets very late at this time of the year.
A hot-air ballooon drifts slowly over the city bathed in the last glow of the setting sun.
Ps. I will be voting and commenting on all the entries and some lovely entries I do see already.

I have voted. One 10, two 9's and some 7/8's. If I saw a sunset silhouette, sorry, DNMC. In my scoring you just got a 4. Sorry.
Sad, because there are some images that I would have rated between 10 and 8 in applicable challenges. Stone me, I did not enter.

| Doc - we voted similarly, although I didn't put a sunset down quite as far as you. I'm frustrated because the literal voters think silhouettes can have no detail on the subject and they CAN. Oh well. I did give out one 10, so it's all worth while. Good luck everyone. I'm in the 5.0 range as usual. What else is new? |

Judy, I have never thought of a silhouette allowing any detail in the subject. And when I search for definitions of the term, this is my understanding as well.
A two-dimensional representation of the outline of an object, as a cutout or configurational drawing, uniformly filled in with black, especially a black-paper, miniature cutout of the outlines of a famous person's face. (dictionary.com)
The outline of a body viewed as circumscribing a mass. (Meriam webster)
A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene consisting of the outline and a featureless interior, with the silhouetted object usually being black. (wikipedia)

I know we've discussed this before. Oh well, doesn't matter. I guess "partial silhouette" to me is still enough silhouette to fit into it in my book.
The other less arty one I did would probably have a 7+ score now. LOL |
