Original Challenge
19 out of the top 20 had an actual bottle in the picture.
Maybe I should go make a purchase? ;-)
Any ideas floating around out there? |

I still have the full bottle I bought for the last challenge! We don't drink much and it seems when friends come over they always bring their own. Now to think of a good idea............... |

Shooting for this challenge in the middle of the afternoon, mixing drinks, taking shots, can't let that drink go to waste, oops need to make another drink, unable to focus after awhile, should have eaten something, nah, go with the flow.....how about a challenge featuring panama red?

Don't you mean you can now avoid the same "sand trap"? LOL.

It's going to be hard to top the front page from the previous challenge. |

Ditto. It seems odd to me that there is a sequel less than a year after the original. It's like the "straight to dvd" of challenges. |

Alcohol impairs the memory? |

"To search for perfection is all very well. But to look for Heaven is to live here in Hell"
After 45 minutes that line from Sting's song just kept playing and playing in my head. Frickn' heck, up waaaaayyyyyy too late. Lighting, lighting, angle, angle, trim, trim and stretch and stretch.... 150+ shots and I *think* I got 7-9 useable ones. |

Is it not odd that this challenge wasn't expert editing but the country song challenge was?
I continue to lack the time to get involved, and the challenges are not providing motivation to make the time. |

Yeah, some of the things in the Absolut gallery are absolutely fall into the expert editing, but there are still many possibilities open. The weekend is coming up....or you could go for a late night with only 5 hours sleep:-) Quick peak at your gallery and I saw two ideas that could be done; you just have to set yourself a goal to do it.
Scraping the whole bunch from last night -damn reflections!!!! Did another shoot today and much better - even with the heart attack of my camera dropping on the floor. |

Does it ever frustrate you when you have an excellent idea for a photograph, but have NO idea how to execute it?
I'm not the kind of person that's very creative or inventive. Very rarely do I get an idea for a photo.. but currently, I have an excellent idea (I think, anyway) for this challenge and have been killing myself all week trying to figure out how to set it up so that the final product is exactly what I envision in my head.. but with no luck. Sigh!
Okay.. end of rant. |

Ask someone.
That's what I'd do. Find out who could do that type of shot and ask for their advice. |

I̢۪ve got a shot entered but I really don̢۪t like it that much. I was thinking about redoing my entry from last time but better. But I think I might save that for the Take Two challenge.

Yes, I have been there. When that occurs I try isolate what exactly is creating the roadblock - lighting? angle? availability of the subject needed in the shot? those three are easy to look up for tutorials on how to or let your fingers do the typing to search out where to get the subject/object needed.
Composition is where it becomes difficult. My very first idea for this challenge would have been great but how to create it compositionaly - that just escaped me. So I explored and went with my second idea.
Wendy also has a good suggestion - you could approach someone here for suggestions....or even ask friends or family (you never know, they might help you past that roadblock and make a great suggestion)

Thanks vawendy and CNovack. I appreciate your input. My problem comes to lighting. I don't have ANY equipment, and I feel like I need something in order to create the kind of quality seen in most of the Absolut Ads. I'll try my best! |

Just realized that the number of entries has finally gotten over the legal drinking age in the U.S.:-)
Only 23 so far ?!?!?!?!? One more day - I really hope there will be more participation and the entry number will rise. The last one had 66 - hope II gets as high as the last one. |

My issue is that I need a bottle, but don't have a use for vodka. (no, this is not a "if I buy the vodka, who wants it when I'm done with the shot?" thread. :)
Where can I get an empty absolut bottle? (Or even something that looks like one?) |

I'm puzzled that the extra rules assert: "Advanced Editing", which I take to mean: NO Text.
Seems odd for an advertisement. The topic should "Absolut Ad Beyond Words" or some such. |
