Am I "worthy" to be on your site...Damn right I am! But, you can take your arrogance and shove it! I will be letting everyone I know how I was treated on this site...

How's that for "promoting & marketing" YOUR site!

it doesn't matter. anyone who didn't believe your legitimacy and posted was merely skeptical of your account. i don't think anyone called you out personally but you cease to see it that way.

if you want to think that I and others are attacking you, feel as you wish, however its probably best you don't participate here because its hard to believe you'd be able to handle any honest criticism you were sure to receive by playing along in this game we play.

Lisa, welcome to the site even if you have had an unpleasant introduction. For what it is worth the site is a great place for learning and for every person who is less than welcoming there are many more who will bend over backwards to give great advice and help others get what they want out of photography.

Not called out by name, but called out all the same.

If you're not attacking, then at least you, and others, are antagonizing. Either way, you should reconsider your place on the DPC "Welcome Wagon".

Oh yes, this rough and tumble game we play with photos amongst ourselves...no one else is tough enough to take it. We, at DPC are the toughest, thickest skinned badasses in the entire photo universe! GRRRRRRR. I feel the testosterone oozing from my pores with every flower macro!

Hello Lisa, I took a look at your page and you have some fantastic photos....the barn owl turning its head upside down like that is amazing to see - I wonder how and why they do that as that I know owls can turn their heads to look behind but never 'upside down'. Congrats on the well deserved win. The wonder of nature is amazing.

Before you respond to anger with anger (and admitingly it happens to ALL of us for it is human nature), please do not paint the community with a broad brush.

We have had a challenge in honor of a

JawnyRico who passed away in 2008. The Cowboy was done in his memory.

We have had two challenges in honor of

Sherpet a much loved member whose deteriating health issues have lead her to give up taking wonderful pictures - life for her is a daily struggle now, but she is a strong and classy lady who takes it one day at a time. In the style of: Sherpet and Flowers for Sherpet were done in her honor.

The community has gathered together to help

Docpjv both with emotional support and donations for a life extending surgery (

JulietNN helped to rally the DPC troops with that)in his constant battle with Living with Cancer

There has been a recent outpouring for

SDW's family as his wife is going through a difficult health battle. Scott has done alot for the DPC community and has had constant challenges in life that the administration/community came together to thank him for his contributions WPL Announcement - End of Regular Season Champion!

I could go on and on to demonstrate (and gently remind the DPC family;-) ) the goodwill that *can and does* exist here. Like any 'family' we have our ups and downs, misunderstandings/hurt feelings, times of anger and times of joy and sympathy. And through it all we gather together in our love for photography to pass on knowledge of different aspects of photography or learning new aspects of photography from members here. For every one or two negative threads there are anywhere to 5-10 positive ones to follow of those who ask for help/assistance and receive help/assistance in the Photography Discussion

With that, I hope you do join us at the DPC family 'picnic table' :-)

just to summarise i think a lot of the reaction was to protect DPC from what appeared like a rival, two new accounts with no info both so i think we can be excused of a little scepticism

but welcome, this site has helped me grow as a photographer

lisalkee I'm glad you are going to stick around. I'm sorry that on your first visit you encountered the guard dogs. They're good dogs really, but when they get over zealous they need to be chained up for a bit.
