If indeed you consider him dumb, what endearing terms do you have for the likes of the Governor of Texas or your former President.

I don't understand anyone who thinks that Katie Couric was "mean" to Sarah Palin for asking her "tough" questions. What planet are these people on? |

What is with O'Donnell, Palin and Bachman? A hat-trick of inability to answer "tough" questions and feet in mouths? |

Well the " Gottcha question" I most liked was "What have you seen so far today, and what are you going to take away from your visit?" to which she tangled the story of Paul Revere's ride. Getting messed up in your facts in an off the cuff question is understandable, being unable to admit you messed up is not. And implying such an open question was some sort of trap anyone would have trouble with is pretty sad. |

Quote from I, Robot that seems relevant ...
"[He is] the 'dumbest' smart person, I have ever met in my life!"
And I haven't even met him ... |

I really don't understand this accusation. The word "dumb" has a specific meaning. You can disagree with his policies, think he is taking the country in the wrong direction or what have you; but like most men who are elected president, he is demonstrably not dumb.
It does amaze me that in the current political climate of partisan attack that words that have specific meanings (like dumb, or socialist; or for that matter fascist) are used in ways that are clearly incorrect. How do you expect to convince people of your argument if you can't find the right words to express your ideas? it is so dumb. |

LOL I can't help but laugh when I watch the US circus from the sidelines up north in Canada. And I thought things were pretty bad up here, that is until I hear the non-sense and pure stupidity being spewed by the likes of Perry and Bachmann. Good luck to my American friends. :)

Thanks! We need it!
(Embarrassing the way things have transpired the past several years...not just this administration! We look ridiculous to the rest of the world with all of the infighting and self-serving politics!) |

All I can say is, if either one of these idiots somehow make it to the oval office it will be time to pack my bags. Got any room up north? |

Well, there's book smart, and practical smart. One out of two ain't bad, unless you're our Dear Leader. In a break from tradition, I voted for him. Never more disappointed. How's this hope-y change-y thing working out for you?

GOod point â€Â¦
DUMB:
1a : lacking the human power of speech â€Â¦
this arguably applies to GWB â€Â¦Ã‚ not Obama.

Obama doesn't speak, he reads teleprompter... When he does speak, he gets very dumb. He has no clue about doing anything.
He is the dumbest president ever came to this world. He will be gone (ass kicked) next year... I just can't wait.
Dumb = Obama
also, he is not only dumb but socialist, anti-American and god-wannabe.

it cracks me up that so many people consider the president dumb but are themselves no where near as qualified to run an entire nation.
just becuase you disagree with a leaders policies doesn't make him dumb. In fact taking an argument to name-calling is generally a last resort to try and win any argument, you are pulling the topic off facts and trying to elicit an emotional response. Starting the argument that the president is dumb tells me that you are unable to articulate your disagreements to back up your dislike.
today is 95% of this country knows nothing abut how this country works or what its founded on or what our rights are. we keep respewing what we hear on tv and don't even bother to check for ourselves to see if its right. Rush Limbaugh said it was, so it must be, Rachel Maddow said this so it must be true.
i keep hearing they are taking away our rights or that the constitution protects from this and this, really? not in any certain terms, its very vague. and usually it takes a landmark case and a group of very smart people to decide what the Constitution actually says, which by the way needs to evolve over time.
Also another topic is economics, most of us don't know the first thing to understanding the world economics, heck, even our leaders don't. its a very dynamic system that has many variables and no-one truly knows how one changing variable will affect the all others.
the point is none of us know everything are not qualified to call the leaders dumb. we relate to politicians becuase their party values fall in line with ours, however the two sides are so polarized that i'd be surprised if any of us truly relate to any one party, let alone any one candidate.

A line from the movie, I Robot, comes to mind. Will Smith's character says to the woman scientist from the company, "You are the dumbest smart person I know!"
Could be said of our Dear Leader. |

WOW... this is DPC, "Democratic Party Crack-house."
This is a war. We as in "Conservative Republicans" will win it at the end. If you think the president is smart and did a good job, vote for him... but fortunately "We The People" are taking over this country next year from the worst president ever. |

I'm guessing either Bachmann or Perry are the not dumb ones by your lights? Perhaps when you say dumb you mean something different than what most of us mean? I'm guessing is not the opposite of intelligent. |
