I did not start this thread from nothing. If someone attacks to my party, it's my duty to defend it. We, conservatives, don't start fights, we finish them...
and wait until the next election, you will clearly see what I mean. |

They are not attacking your party, they are saying the people that are leading in the polls from your party are stupid. This assertion is based on their academic records and gaffs in public speaking and the like. If Dr. Paul or Ambassador Huntsman were leading the polls, there would be a different debate, one about ideology and world view. But the first hurdle any candidate has to face is "If elected, will your village be short an idiot?" |

So what's more important the party or the country? Your priorities seem to be misguided. Right now the republican party has many different candidates all with different values and ideals yet you believe that ALL of them will be the perfect candidate because of party affiliation? Even though one or two or all of them may be terrible candidates, becuase they have an elephant on their flag you are voting for them? |

Why is it that when the democratic party spawns a 3rd party offshoot, the green party, the general member and candidate is usually as smart if not smarter than the garden variety democrat- but the when the tea party spins off the GOP, the members and candidates appear to eschew all high thinking, science, reason, tolerance, sanity, etc.? |

i agree, its a shame that qualified candidates dont bother with this show, and we are stuck with the likes of Bachman.

I prefer a president who is a duh-duh stupid, who drools on himself, gets blowjobs from interns, fakes crying, misspells words but FIXES economy and FIXES unemployment in my country then a guy who speaks (reads teleprompter) well, dresses well, walks well, looks handsome, tall, black (half), looking up all the time but can't do shit about economy or unemployment and crashes our way of living.
so, you have your "perfect" president for 2 and a half years, and unfortunately some more to go. Extreme leftists, european-wannabe socialists will loose, Constitutional Conservative Americans will win.
I see lots of smart(!) people around here answering back pretty quick. Makes me very happy to have this kind of debate here. |

It amuses me that you have chosen to attack Mr. Obama on his reliance on the teleprompter. it is right up there with calling him stupid. He does use a teleprompter, but when compared to his predecessor or Mr. Reagan he is hardly reliant. I understand that any politician who speaks off the cuff risks gaffs and wandering off message, but I really wish Mr. Obama would do so more often.
Remember when Mr.Obama accepted the invitation to a House Republican retreat in Baltimore back in January 2010? for an hour and a half Mr Obama answered prepared questions, corrected misstatements and roasted them for playing party politics. He was so good speaking off the cuff that Fox news cut away half an hour early, because Daniel walked into the lion's den and mopped the floor with the lions. If you think I'm exagerating about how good our president is speaking off the cuff read the transcript. He will not be invited back.
So dumb,no. Needs the teleprompter, no.
As far as being a "wanna be socialist", you do know that President Obama has cut more taxes in his first term than G.W. Bush did in his? Of course You and I both know that this wasn't his goal, those tax cuts were forced down his throat by a congress that threatened to force the country into default if they didn't get their way. Congress has had control, the only thing it seems the house will let Mr. Obama do is take all the blame for their horrible economic policy. If it was a Democratic house, our country would be on the mend, but the same folks who led us into this mess with their offshoring jobs and deregulating banks see the way to fix this mess is to do much more of the same. How is it working for you? Think getting rid of the EPA and all corporate tax is the right path? The house seems to. |

THINK??? It's all emotion and rhetoric, with basically zero rational thought or consideration of the consequences. |

I think there is rational thought, but it is pretty shortsighted and cold hearted. I see it as corporate manipulation of the process to maximize short term profits (which is a corporation's job after all) and to attain that goal they have put into the yoke a set of people who's economic interests are diametrically opposed, but can be brought into the fold by waving the flag of moralistic patriotism, which costs the corporate bottom line nothing. If you had the economic interests of the Koch brothers it would make perfect sense.
As far as the long term consequences, the only option I can see is a hope that the rapture is coming soon. If you are going to disappear next month, why worry about the credit card balance or clean the leaves out of the gutters before it starts raining? |

Of course. Murdoch and the Koch Brothers certainly have a very rational and methodical purpose here (evil geniuses of a sort), but I was referring to the eager followers of their marketing disinformation. You were addressing FocusPoint, after all. The latter group lacks the will, or in some cases the capacity, to evaluate even the most outlandish claims generated by these corporate and political propaganda machines (see birthers, global warming denial, death panels, job creators, overtaxation, vaccines causing autism, etc.) and just assume such claims must be credible. As a result we get congressional obstruction and policies cleverly spun to appeal to the very people they would injure the most, alarmed incredulity from outside observers and experts in their respective fields, a rich stream of material for late night comics, and nutty comments like the OP here. |

This is what I got out of this thread.
Obama is dumb.
Why?
Because he is.
But why?
Uhh, because he is.
But why?
I already told you.
Get the facts before you talk about something you know nothing about. And I don't mean from the news. Do some real research. |
