I'am suffering from withdrawal : (
I sent my Canon EOS 10D off to Canon in Irvine Ca. Friday to be checked
and cleaned and now I'm finding it very hard to live without it!
Hopefully the separation will be short : )
It is so hard after loading it in the car everywhere we went : )

Can't be easy. What was wrong with it?

I was getting random "Error 99" with all new lenses and etc. Checked all the batteries and etc. and everything seemed ok. Canon said that Error 99 could mean number a problems or etc. Apparently they made this Error 99 so vague it is not funny.
A majority of the shots I took recently when opened with the Canon File viewer and selected "view AF points" there were none highlighted and the photos were not as sharp as they should have been. And when there was an AF point highlighted it still was not very sharp.
So I thought it best to have it checked and cleaned before the warranty runs out in September.

Error 99 is not always a lens problem. Error 99 just indicates an error not covered by other error codes (which is most of them).

Not exactly. Canon told me on the phone that error 99 is a catch all for a majority of errors. Could be lens, bad battery, low battery, dirty contacts, and so on. Not to smart in my book :)

My camera has been repaired and is being shipped back 2nd day air with delivery set for tomorrow (11th) by the UPS.
It will be so nice to have it back :)
Now if it works I will be so happy.
So far very happy with Canon service it was under 10 days like promised.

I got my Canon EOS 10D back today and what an improvement!
They replaced the shutter, cleaned and checked everything to factory specs.
I went out into the yard to take some test shots and just as I did this young male hummingbird flew right up to the feeder near me and was enjoying his meal.
Shot under the following conditions:
Hand held
Tokina 80-400mm lens (Shot at 230mm)
Cloudy
Strong wind
1/125s
F4.5
ISO 100
You can see the small red patch developing on his chest in the area I have circled.
Shot under the following conditions:
Hand held
Tokina 80-400mm lens (Shot at 350mm)
ExposureTime - 1/180 seconds
FNumber - 5.60
ISOSpeedRatings - 100
FocalLength - 350 mm
Not bad given the conditions, shutter spped and etc.
Edit:
The only thing I did in Photoshop was level adjustments.

That would not stop me using the camera :)
The 1gb Compact flash card will hold quite a few shots.
Also I have a NiXvue 20gb portable HD with an LCD panel that will hold all I need. And I could have the computer up and running from backup real quick.
