That's just silly ... everybody knows that Marilyn Monroe is in an above ground "drawer"... no digging is required. *rolleyes*

Don't you remember the huge amount of money that someone paid for the "drawer" above hers. He made his wife promise that he'd be buried upside down over Marilyn Monroe.

Not kidding.

Years later, wife needed money and put the "drawer" up for sale... got a few million for it... but if I remember, the buyer wouldn't pay.

One step closer to getting those REAL X-Ray Specs I was promised in the back of the comic book when I was a kid.

At which point she killed him so as to avoid any delay in granting his request? ;-)

Did you ever think there was more that the officials know that they aren't releasing?
Like, for example, Homeland Security must have been watching their twitter already because of something. This was just the final straw especially since they just entered US soil.

Would you rather DHS did nothing and maybe these two did have bad intentions? Then what?

Better to be safe then sorry... Betcha they won't do that again...

I think that is a very valid question. Given the news is from the media, on one side, its not rational to conclude that we know the complete truth.

It comes down to this:
If it really was all that innocent, then kudos to DHS for looking into it, shame on them for taking it so far.
It it really was part of something bigger and we just don't know, then double kudos to DHS.

We may never know.....

Good thing we didn't have internet when I was a kid. Posting my violent stick-figure battle scenes would surely have landed me in GTMO before I finished the first grade.

Since someone cleverly introduced the word "terror" into the title of this thread, perhaps it is time for you to get your affairs in order, as I'm sure a review of your postings here are sure to engender a more excessive reaction than would your stick figures ... :-(

Based on his mug, I think that already happened.

Giles...I love ya to death.

We used to say destroy when I was in high school...in the United States.

Did anyone catch the quote of Giles? .... which fell on death ears at the time ... (it's DEAF ears, Giles! ((hugs)) At least in the U.S.A.

Two different countries...different expressions, different social workings...it's a bit overboard to me! Common Sense isn't at work for many any longer.

If there was more, the DHS should say so.

It's likely the DHS or whoever weren't monitoring their specific Twitter feed, but rather using computers to scan through the entire site for key words and combinations that would trigger an alert to focus on that account. I'd bet having "destroy and "America" would set it off regardless of context. I remember a big stink about the FBI developing a "sniffer" program that would search for keywords and phrases to snoop around in places they weren't supposed to go. I'm sure that R&D wasn't wasted.

The problem is that this stuff is all carried out in some kind of screwy secret squirrel mode where nothing is disclosed and there's no accountability on the part of the agency for reacting or overreacting improperly.

I did, but I figured it was a Freudian slip, perhaps deliberate left in for the secondary implications ... I bet it wouldn't have seemed nearly so odd had the lines been arranged in the form of a poem.

Yeah I know... I knew that was the counter point when I typed it :-) I disagree and I honestly think - to steal your words - that "Draconian measures" actually increase the issues - it's an ever viscous cycle.

It's interesting - I wonder if people would be willing to tolerate more bombs, shootings, etc. in exchange for a restoration of our freedom and privacy.

I can only answer for my family & I - YES!

Were Londoners screaming at Police/Government to clamp down to prevent those acts of terrorism?

I don't really know.... I saw it as a resigned acceptance from the general TUBE commuter population but you know how that commute thing goes for all of us... obviously individuals are all over the place on issues like that. All I knew was the guy I saw on TV in St Paddy's parades in Boston/New York getting funding for more bombs in London.... Strangely at the time they use to voice over his words on English tv... Like that changed things :-)

haha i know the difference between death and deaf,

thats was rather amusing gerry adams was voiced over on the tv as his voice could corrupt you instantly!! lol

our farrier was ex house hold cavalry and we had a few retired horses from them , he used to talk about the horror of dealing with the mangled horses more so than the men from the 1982 nail bombing //news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/3816705.stm

We should all convert to Islam just to keep them busy.
02/03/2012 04:08:20 AM · #48
Unfortunately while if someone looks like they are Muslim, this is normal, but also, I am white and I have almost been thrown off a ATA flight in Honolulu years ago for absolutely no reason.

People are afraid. All I did on that flight was put my carry on in the overhead locker, in doing so, I moved a bag that was in there. The flight attendant did her nut with me when I touched the other bag. The other passengers were shocked that I was treated so badly for perfectly normal behaviour.

I may have looked a little tired as I had flown overnight from Melbourne and spent 14 hours in Honolulu driving around sightseeing before boarding my next flight for Baltimore via Vegas; so chances are I probably looked exhausted around my eyes, but still that is no excuse.

The media have got the sheep people scared; and what do most people do when they are scared?

I dont buy into the whole premise that the governments want to "control" us. i think that they do however prey on the fears to win elections and use those fears to manipulate where he money goes. The media also plays a big part, however its consequences are unintentional. Media is entertainment, entertainment sells advertising and these stories are big entertainment.

WE are the cause of or own undoing. WE allow these politicians to decide the fate of many off the fears of a few by not holding them accountable and WE allow the media to continue on its mind numbing pace by not changing the channel, or better, turning it off.
