Time to rant a little. I took my son & granddaughter to the water/amusement park today. We're having temps around the 100 degree mark, and it beats just sitting in the air being bored. We were there about 40 minutes and my granddaughter & I were in a part where you can shoot water at each other, having a blast when the lifeguards started ordering everyone out of the area. She was upset, but I told her we'd head over to the wave pool. Walking over we saw everyone being kicked out of the pool. So I told her we'd go get some slushie drinks. I grabbed the coach and shoes and we headed out to the amusement area. Much to my surprise, all the stores were shuttered. All the drink places, food places, games of chance. Every thing! And people were being ordered off rides. They had the whole park shut down! No one, not the lifeguards, not the security people, not the ride operators had a clue what was going on. We waited around for about 20 minutes and finally I got the attention of another security officer. She wouldn't tell me what was going on, but said it would be best if we left. The entrance was swarmed with cops and K-9 units. We had to go through a security check to leave! The roads around the park were shut down, so it took me 30 minutes to get home, and I only live 5 minutes away! So it finally showed up in the news, it was a bomb threat that someone called in. So the big why... why do people do this? Does it really just give them a kick to ruin other peoples day?

Yeah, that's exactly what it is. It's a kick, it's a power trip. Sorry your day was ruined. Get a refund?

Idiots.
Hopefully they were incredibly stupid when making the threat and were easily traced.
I had a couple of kids crank calling me one night. No one I knew. The idiots didn't think about caller ID. I called them back, when I started talking, they hung up. I called back again. They let it ring until their mom answered. :D
So hopefully these guys end up even more inconvenienced than you did. :D

I hope they catch them and make them pay for all the cops, sheriffs, dogs, etc. that had to be sent. About 1800 people had to be evacuated. The park still hasn't reopened. They lost a lot of money today. |
