I need a bag that will hold my Mark III with a 70-200 L, a 30D and something slightly wider, some batteries and stuff.
I would love to have a sling bag, but not sure I will find one that is remotely comfortable and will hold all of this?
Help? |

I just recently purchased the Kata 3n1-30.
kata 3n1-30
I think it's a great bag that can double as a backpack or sling bag. It can easily hold my Canon 7D gripped + 100-400 + 70-200 + 50 + 18-55. So, I see no reason it couldn't fit what you need it to.
It also had upper compartment where I keep rocketblower + lenspen + filters + radio triggers + lens hood for 100-400.
A very nice bag for $80.

dude I just bought the Think Tank Retrospective 10 and I am not lying if it was legal I'd marry it. Pricey but worth it. I'm going to buy the 5 and 50 when I get the coin.
I researched and researched and decided to splurge for this; all of the reviews talk about the strap how nice, etc.... but the strap is amazing. I've never seen one so well made. Easily the most comfortable and practical bag I've ever seen with my own two eyes. |

I'd with mrchhas on this, the retrospective 10 is an awesome bag, I'm looking to get the smaller one too. |

For the carry all bag, I like the Think Tank Photo Urban Disguise 70. It holds 2 bodies 4 lenses including the Bigma with pockets for filters spare batteries and the like, and does not scream "i am filled with expensive camera gear. Of course carrying it full loaded is an exercise in heavy lifting, but it all fits. |

Lowepro If you want a sling bag, I'd check out Lowepro. I think it's comfortable. |

I recently picked up the Kata 3N1-35 PL bag. It can be used as a sling or a backpack. Well built. Several ways to access your gear. Lots of room for camera gear and an upper compartment. It's pretty big, but there's a smaller "3N1-25" version. |

The Lowepro FastPack 350 backpack can be accessed like a sling bag and should hold everything you mentioned. The Cambags.com link below has several pictures showing what people can put in it. The website has reviews and pictures of most of the major camera bags available.

I love mine and use the sling access all the time.

I have the KATA 3N1-30 and absolutely love it.
Last year I cut the top rear tab and inserted a snap which then enabled me to place my laptop in what used to be the area normally used to insert the carrier handles.
Great bag, very durable, holds a lot of gear... and most important, it meets airline regulations regarding carry-on bags.

I had a few minutes of time today (translates -- neither of the kids had ball practice), so I rode over to Asheville to the only local camera "shop" we have.
The had several different makes and models, *but* they also had some used bags. I got a Lowepro Magnum AW (not sure of the model number, it seems to be an older one) for less than I could order the cheaper ones on-line.
It's probably more bag than I need, but it will come in handy when I have to take a bunch of stuff with me.
thanks for all of your suggestions. There were a couple of bags that I would have like better than what I actually got, but I need it in a hurry and wasn't sure I could get them by Friday. |
