I have had one, and only one, idea for fairy tale so far. I looked for a big, black and very nasty looking dog that would growl and snarl when I pointed my camera at it. The idea was to take a long exposure while turning a flashlight on and off strobe-style to turn it into Cerberus the three-headed watch-dog of the entrance to the under-world. But, alas, my brother got rid of his dog (whom I could have made snarl) and I am not about to get that close to a snapping and snarling strange dog. :D
So, unless I think of something else before tomorrow night, I'll be sitting yet another one out. It is probably just as well, I probably would have been voted down for it being an image of mythology instead of something from one of the stories of the Brothers Grimm.
I won't be using it, so if someone has access to a friendly dog that likes to snarl, or more desire to enter than brains to stay away from a mad dog, feel free to use it.
David

I bet Jack ran into a couple of aphids as he climbed that beanstalk .... |
Jacko and the Beanstalk |
What about Jiminy Cricket???? |
Yeah Jacko, all you need is a toy hat and walking stick and a really clever little cricket (or a dead one and some glue) and you're sorted.

I'm still having my two photo dilimma.
I wish I could first have everyone vote between those two, and then have that one represent me in the actual challenge. But alas, I can't show you my picture until voting is over! |

I have an idea.. throw them both in a directory of 20 or so *other* pictures, and then put the pictures on a random slideshow in an image viewer.. first picture that comes up is the one you submit.

It took you long enough!
I thought I was back at the store shopping with my old lady:
"Honey which one should I get, the cobalt blue one or the dark blue one." |

It's an official "Spare The Air Day" anyway, you should take BART. |

It think it's probably the best spot to take pictures for this challenge. I remember going there when I was little.

First one this year I believe. I hardly drive much anymore. Probably got gas 2 times in about 4 months. It's so much easier to ride the bus.
Amazingly living in San Francisco so long and I've never been on BART. CALTrain yes, BART no, Cable Car no :(

Just submitted mine -- please have mercy on it! I seem to have gone brain dead the last few days and ideas are fleeting. |

You can always cover yourself with mud and name the title "Shrek in Mud Bath" :P |

Well, I took some photos, edited them...didn't like any except for one, and of course, it's almost nothing like my original idea for this challenge...We'll see. I'm pretty sure I won't have the energy nor the location to try to get what I really want.

The entries for Fairy Tales have really taken off in the last day and a half.. up to 54 now. I wonder what the deadline rush will be like tomorrow.
I was hoping that it'd stay low to counter the "too many people doing the same thing I am" syndrome I expect will curse me.

I had a great idea for fairy tales but spend two weekends and several evenings to diagnose problems with my PC which looked to be power supply or virus related, but turned out to be a motherboard hardware issue. Then had to buy a new PC, get it installed, protected etc....
Maybe I should have posted it it the RANT forum........
So frustrating to spend all that time. |

Sounds like a fairy tale come true to me. Been needing to do that myself (to keep the kids off of mine), but things always come up.
