My new digital rebel shipped... but I need to order a screen protector so I don't scratch my LCD (my G2 got pretty bad, even though I "closed" it most of the time)

Has anyone tried "Sakar DIGITAL CONCEPTS CAMERA SCREEN PROTECTORS"? $14 for a set of 12 from buydig.com.

Also, what do you recommend for a lens shade and UV filter?

Looking at additional lenses, filters, etc., boy it can get expensive!

Also just found an alternative screen protector at B&H. Opinions on these Hoodman screen protectors (and versus Sakar)

Hmm--nobody with experience? In any case, I went ahead and ordered the Hoodman screen protectors for $9.95 (but after tax and shipping 15.95, so I hope their worth it!)

So I'll report on the results later.

As for the lens protector, I realize that I will need a UV and polarizer for every lens size (geesh). So for the kit lens, I went a little "cheap" and ordered the "Tiffen 58mm Photo Essentials Filter Kit" from Amazon for $38, which includes a UV filter, circular polarizer, and #812 color warming filter in 58mm. When I buy my next lens, I'll have to start over! Currently I am struggling to figure out what other lens I can afford and what I'll need. I do want greater than 3x zoom!
