Can someone PLEASE tell me, NikonJeb, who has had almost a dozen Nikon DSLRs, WHY the D600 is $100 more than the D610?

+600!!! LOL :)
After menacing Italian customer service, they decide that they can change the shutter mechanism to all those who have problems like me - maybe my petition against Nikon Italy worked well? :) |

Hmm, I've been watching with interest the reports about the D600 vs D 610 as I'm wanting to upgrade soon and wondering if I should hold off until the 610 is released so the 600 will be cheaper? |

Yeah.......you'd think, but it's not like that right now.
I don't understand Nikon's pricing theory at all.....the D300s is still on the books at $1700. WTF?
For another $300 you can get the D610 that's light years ahead.....
You'd think that unit would be really cheap by now.

D300s can be had for dirt cheap used though. Was a toss-up between that and my Canon 7D. |

All over the world D600 has not a limit price anymore, so in a few weeks its price will drop significantly.
As for the D300S is what happens with old bodies, high price and no one who buys that - firms want to sell the new stuff. |
