My philosophy as well. I typically have my iPhone and either my Canon S95 or Olympus XA for everyday use. I will pack my more expensive gear if photography is the main point of the ride. |
And frankly, this isn't to say that you can't get pretty good shots with such options. Consider that I told my non-photographically inclined friend to take this shot, that his timing was just slightly off, and it's still not a bad shot (minus poor pp) considering the challenging shooting conditions (strong backlight, fast motion, high dynamic range, remote location) and honestly the result is pretty good.
