Hi Christina, welcome to the club. Just have a look at all the wonderful photographs on this site, get some images in yourself (make sure you understand the edit rules and that your camera date and time is correct), do some voting and commenting on other challenge entries and for all, have fun!

Glad you found us.
There are a lot of good people on this site, and you can learn much more than you actually need to know here as well.

Hello. Come for the photography, stay because of the community. (There are some wonderful folks who hang out here.). And yeah, don't get hung up with your scores.

welcome.
come for the photography, stick around through the realization of what the dpc culture has accepted as a set of standard imagery (overall not bad), and then chomp some popcorn when someone goes off on a rant.
it's a fun place to hang out, and there are some really awesome people here.

as far as improvement of your own skills (if that's something you're here to help with) - the best way to do that is to comment on images in challenges, score them, and state what you do/don't like and why. it helps you later when you're trying to frame a shot, or working on lighting/edits that "i didn't like this in someone else's entry, maybe i should try something else and see what result i get".

overall, don't pay much attention because like Drew Carey says "the scores are meaningless and the games are made-up" :-)
