It is finally time to bump pixel limits and file size limits.
Current sizes are a crime against nature.

We will survive to the ones who are going to complain - let's have it (better 1200px). |

It's been EIGHT YEARS since prop 800. It is time for prop 1200.
I'd also propose an amendment: "Whiners will be restricted to 80 pixels" |

Let's make it large enough so that most people have to scroll horizontal as well as vertical. I don't intentionally vote down when I have to scroll, but I don't get the full impact of the photo. I know I am in the minority... |

But what about the poor souls on laptops....which is the oft-repeated response in opposition of the change. |

I'm a poor soul on a laptop and I'm screaming, "Yes, pleeeeaaaase - give me 1200px!!!" Can't tell you how many images I've abandoned because a decent edit didn't translate at that size. |

The thing is, if it's too big you can just hold the control button down and turn the mouse wheel to make it smaller, or use Command-minus/plus to change the zoom on a Mac. It's not a difficult thing to adjust. I do it all the time when shots are too long vertically. |

Oh. I agree completely. Can't understand why we're still living in backwater times with 800px. |

1200px will demand better photography from everyone, and not so easily hide mountains of PP.
I'm all for it. |

DPC does not and will not participate in prisoner swaps. |

Would we settle for implementation of Proposition 1000? |

could easily do what 500px does, where it automatically resizes depending on the size of your screen. |

I agree, have the software resize for the size of your viewing device. With todays lenses and sensors, we lose so much information reducing to 800 pixels. Its a real shame. |

That would requite recoding...which until recently was unlikely to happen.
Recent changes to DPC make me hopeful...kind of. |

That's a responsive layout and not sure the current framework of dpc could handle it. I'm sure landon is secretly working in his lair working on a completely new site for us... Just wait and see :) |
