I have been working on an Introduction to Photoshop web site for a while - A series of articles especially for people who have little or no experience with Photoshop, but who are wanting to learn.

So far, I have tutorials on the following topics:

- Colour correction
- Contrast
- Filters
- Opening files
- the Tool palette
- Resizing images
- RGB and CMYK colours
- Saving files
- Straightening an image
- Unsharp Mask
- Vector and Bitmap graphics
- Working with Layers.

I am planning to do a tutorial on how to make borders around images as well.

Also, I am planning to split each tutorial into two categories: One part for beginners, and one advanced.

The question is; Am I missing any sections? And is there a need for such a page?

Hurrah ! Just what I need. I have some Q about Photoshop you can answer in your pages.
(1) I want to know how to create a solid colour around a person's photo [over the background] and then make that colour transparent so the original background is gone. The resulting graphic could be used on a web page which has a background photo. The person's (or pet's) picture would appear against the background but wouldn't look rectangular.
(2) How to make attractive wording using various fonts that can be applied against a background on a web page (similar to item 1 above) -- but using very small file size so the page won't take long to load. (3) Any info about improving our own digital photos using Photoshop.

As you can see, I can design web pages BUT don't have a clue how to make attractive graphics and lettering for them.

If you had seen my web page, you'd know that Neither Can I ;) But I'll do my best covering that as well. Thanks for the tips!

EXCELLENT!! I look forward to seeing your site and trying to figure out how to do what I don't understand. What will the address be? Is it photocritic.org like listed on the post? Thanks for helping us out!

As you could tell from my other post, I definately would use such a web page, and I think it is a perfect idea!
Let me know when you have it up and running!

Yeh, it'll get a separate section on that website... As a matter of fact, the section (photography articles) is already there, with some of my articles:

//www.photocritic.org/?page=articles&id=photoindex

However, the new set of articles will probably get a different form factor. I am considering whether I should HTML them, or make them available as PDF, so they can be printed and used as reference. What do you guys think? Or should I do both?

I would find this sort of education to be of great value. So, please continue and we will add subjects as things progress. Maybe you can offer a suggestion pertaining to my thread on EXIF problems in PS7?

I personally prefer HTML; faster to read online. If you offer PDF, could you hv the same in HTML first ?

BTW, I tried your URL to photocritic.org but it hasn't worked for me yet. Site is always unavailable.
