Ok, I sure could use some help here.
I have not used photoshop a lot before and I am having some difficulties trying to save my image as a jpeg file. As soon as I crop the image, and adjust the levels, it will no longer let me save as a jpeg, it will only let me save as a photoshop file. I cannot figure out how to convert it.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong. Some help would be muchly appreciated!

First make sure you have only one layer. If not you must go to "Layer" - "Flatten Image"

If that isn't the problem you can always save as a copy (in PS 6 it's under "file." In PS 7 you must click "save as" then check the copy box)

Flattening isn't necessary here. Either "save as" or "save for web". In either situation jpg should be available. Make sure your color space hasn't changes. Certain formats aren't available if you aren't in RGB mode.

Save for Web should be your best option. If you have 30 layers it won't matter. PS will automatically flatten is...

I could be mistaken here, but I think any version of Photoshop under version 6.0 requires flattening before saving as a jpg...

I'll confirm that at work tomorrow with our graphic artists but I remember hearing something about this, could be wrong here, just raising the possibility...
