So, I got this email from Topaz listing a number of free webinars they said they are scheduling for this month and next. I signed up for some and received confirmation notices, confirmed, and received directions for joining the first webinar. The first one was supposed to be this afternoon. I followed the instructions and ...... a message pops up saying the webinar is full and I should contact the organizer. Tried again with the same response. I was there at the right time. I had received yet another reminder an hour before it was to start which even confirmed time zone information. I followed all the instructions. How could it be full? I did send an email requesting help to the only address I had, but of course have not received anything in response.
Has anyone else had a similar experience? Have you actually been able to attend a Topaz webinar? I was hoping to learn some things there and feel kind of let down. |

I have watched Topaz seminars in the past, not this month but several times last year, in that time I've never recieved that message or had any connection problem. |

I did not know they offered webinars. Happy to know, but can't help with the question. Sorry. |

If you don't receive an answer to your email within 24-48 hours, I suggest you print it out, with the addition that you haven't received a reply for the specified time, and send it by actual surface mail to the CEO (or Customer Service) at their physical address. It may take longer but I think it will be harder to ignore. |

Thank you for a great suggestion. I will do that. They do have a physical address (although no telephone number listed on their website) and their CEO is Dr. Albert Yang.
I had emailed (I thought) 3 different addresses within the company I thought might be able to help but received no response during the actual webinar. I then received 3 responses - worded exactly the same - from a "Ryan P - Customer Happiness Specialist" which did not really address the issue and were obviously copies of an automatic response. Ironically, it said "if you have any more questions, please let me know." I did respond to that and got a response which simply said "Your request (54368) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email". (???)
My issue is this. When I signed up for the webinar, I was given a "unique" code to enter the event. I was told not share that code because it was unique to me and my participation in the event. If space was limited, they could easily have limited registrations, and explained alternatives, if any, if capacity had been reached at that time, rather than give every impression my place was assured and then deny my access. I was not late. This issue was also brought up in their forums by a gentleman who had come home early to participate and was also denied access. He was told it was prudent to enter 5-10 minutes early. That advice was not articulated at any point prior to the webinar.
I am really disappointed.
The company's philosophy is stated as follows (copied from their website):
"Our Values
Our customers are our priority
It’s true, everything we value boils down to satisfying our customers. Without out happy customers we wouldn’t be in business and we remember that."
Too bad they don't always walk their talk. |

The problem is that if they "advise" everyone to sign in 5-10 minutes early, people will just start 15-20 minutes early.
I agree that if space is limited they should just limit registrations, just like for a real class, and perhaps have some kind of waiting list system. If they get enough complaints (along with constructive suggestions) they will change or lose business.
If the event is free then there's no reason they shouldn't record it and make it available for streaming, even if the viewer can't actively participate. |

From their Help page:
I missed the live webinar. How can I watch it?
Every webinar is recorded, so if you signed up but could not attend, the recorded version will be sent to you in the follow up email a few hours after the live cast ends.
The best of our webinars can also be viewed at: youtube.com/topazlabs.
