I know this topic has probably been done to death, but please bear with me!!
I am looking for a website (preferably UK based)where i can post my pics and hopefully make a few bucks.
Please don't shoot me down in flames, i'm no pro but i think some of my pics are good enough.

yep, you are right, you are not the first one to ask that.
try
dreamstime
istockphoto
CanStockPhoto
non of those are in the UK, but they should still do the trick. otherwise do a search in the forums for any of those names, or for stock photography, or start uploading to the dpcprints.
