"shot in the dark" has multiple meanings, did you intend that? I'd be up for it either way! |

Ok. Just started thinking about this subject and it's a little fuzzy to me.
Is this just a night shot - like a downtown at night photo? Also, why the "no desaturation / black and white" - is there something else that needs explaining? I mean if the challenge specifically states, even in the subject, to take a shot in color why the disclaimer? |

And then there's this in the description: "It's a technical challenge..."
WTH??? More like a mystery challenge. |

A "technical challenge" is one that encourages experimentation with a particular technique, such as "high contrast", "low key", "Black and white" or, in this case, low-light photography. It was not the OP's intention that this challenge be about photographing dark stuff but, rather, photographing in darkish conditions. That's how I read it anyway, so there we go.
I actually USED to spell all this out in challenge descriptions but I got regularly lambasted for it... So it goes.

Well, this part is helpful: "... in this case, low-light photography". For me the challenge description is truly cryptic as written. Nothing personal.
So ... shoot something in low light conditions and keep it in color (no B&W conversions or desaturation). |

As Bear said, it's more about technical skills here.
Closest description to what I mean is wikipedia definition

That makes sense :-) I have amended the challenge description so it reads as you suggested. Thanks. I'm perhaps more used to "living in metaphor" than I ought to be.

It's no amount of work at all to speak of with my Magic Admin Tools. I am glad the subject came up in a timely manner so I could adjust the description for clarity. Clarifying in-forum is all well and good, but there are a LOT of active submitters who don't do a lot of forum browsing as far as I can tell... |
