Here's the thing. I got home last night from work at midnight. Crystal clear skies. Got an Idea for a picture...so there I am at 2:00 a.m....like an idiot composing this shot.
I gotta get a life....
Let me know what you think of the picture please.

Very Nice, I like it. What shutter did you use? I wish stars showed up like that here. |

I have a digital rebel.
It was about a 60sec exposure.
Getting stars sharply in focus is a toughy...you have to play with the focus. |

You mean, the Infinity setting doesn't work for stars? What else could you use? |

I had the same issue getting the stars in focus the infinity setting didnt work... turns out the stars are closer than infinity.. it appears the BLACK stuff behind the stars is in perfect focus set at infinity ;) |

Thanks for that gusto.
If you saw the pic you'd understand. There was an object in the foregound which I had to get in focus as well as the stars.
The stars, surprisingly are not in clear focus on infinity setting.

This is jaw-droppingly amazing! Getting a crystal clear shot of Orion is wonderful and the delicate 'moonlit' gerbera is special. But the two together simply beats description. Very well done! |
