I can never remember if Unsharp Mask is legal in Minimal editing.
You may "sharpen your image using any global, non-selective sharpening tool" |

No it is not legal though you can use Filter -> Sharpen. -> Sharpen no other sharpen tools beside this.

Unsharp mask is selective editing because you can choose which areas of the images to affect, and how, with the sliders. |

Correct. Not correct, I misspoke. USM used to be illegal in minimal because it required the use of a new layer, but that restriction is not in the current ruleset. The fact that we can adjust USM with a slider isn't relevant, it's still not "selection" in the sense that we worry about it. My apologies for any confusion.
To recap: USM SHARPENING IS LEGAL IN MINIMAL EDITING.

is smart sharpen legal then ..
it has the option to reduce noise when you sharpen .. is that legal too .. :) |
