Hi
I am trying to upload an image into Free Study. I am sure it is correctly sized. I have tried uploading it from Workshop and from my files but it is rejected with this:
File exceeds the 700 kB limit.
Does anyone know if there is a glitch or I am doing something wrong?
Thanks

Try changing the date of the photo when you upload it.

I have often found that if I resize my image to just under 700kb it becomes a little over 700 on uploading. I have to go back to the save for web stage and reduce the quality. Maybe that is the problem? |

check again your sizing if necessary resize to slightly smaller than 1200....

I have tried resizing it but nothing seems to work. Thanks for your suggestions. I thought maybe there might be a glitch and
others were having trouble. This image is so tightly cropped, I cannot imagine the size is an issue.

Also try re-saving with a different file name; perhaps go a step back to your full-size image and re-sample/resharpen again. Sometimes there's just a glitch in the file.
Also, even kb is a rough measurement. Get the Info//Properties for the file and see exactly how big it is in actual bytes -- the limit is:
716,800 bytes |

It's fixed and the image is in.
Thanks everyone for your help!

This is how I do it in Photoshop when editing a Raw image:
Create a Duplicate (Image -> Duplicate) and flatten the layers
Resize the image so that it's 1200px on the long end
Export using File -> Export -> Save to Web (Legacy)
In the upper right corner of the export dialogue there is a drop-down menu that has an option in it for Optimize to File Size. I use 693KB as putting 700KB tends to create files that are slightly larger. Note: you can also do your resizing as a part of this dialogue by putting in 1200 for the long end of the image, but I like to actually see the results of the resize in Photoshop first before exporting.
