i am thinking of buying the Panasonic DMC-FZ20 and
in addition to family photo activites , i would like
to take some sports photos..... will this camera do
a good job for an 8X10 print?

Welcome to dpc Robert. FZ20 to print at 8x10 is no problem, it's 5MP. It will do good for sports shots as it has f 2.8 thru the entire zoom range and will capture bursts at 3 fps, but don't expect the focusing to be as fast, or predictive, as a DSLR.

Here are a couple of sport action type shots taken with my FZ20. Please keep in mind that these are completely unedited, just as they came from the camera except for downsizing. The camera is still new to me and I was experimenting with settings. The camera's Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness settings were all set to High (which I'm not sure I like).

What nice shots, Harvey! I'm getting so anxious to get my FZ20 now - ordered it from Amazon.com and was hoping it would ship today but just checked on it and it doesn't look like it will ship today.
Love the colors and depth in the pictures you posted. |
