He shows place and final photo, but I think what he does not show in most cases is the final light setup used for the photo. For example the couple on the pedestrian crossing: look at the shadows, there is a strong light from the photographer left.

Still an inspiring series. I would not have thought that it was possible to get such quality pictures from such ugly locations. It is all about the angle, crop , the balances between light sources, and a lot of editing.

LOL!

The stuff I get, and like the most seems to come from ugly places. Sometimes ugly subject material as well. It seems to resonate okay here as well.


Heck, learning photography here, I pretty much thought we were all figuring out how to be illusionists.

The cropping and angle thing? Same deal. I'm pretty sure that you see any of the before images of ribbon winners through the ages here and you'd be surprised.


And then there are some that you go for outright trying to convince the viewer he/she sees something they don't.
