And after voting, will you please make it visible again for us?

Thanks - that shows you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. :)

I wish I would have had more time to shoot today, but signature style took all my time :(

I will be checking back through this thread next week while figuring out what I'm going to do. Thanks again!

General, this one is a challenge. First, it doesnât say âstill lifeâ to me. Second, the focus is off at the tip of the cone which is distracting. You might salvage it by making it a grungy black and white.

The operation was a success but the patient died ... :-)
I'll try to thinks of something to submit this week -- thanks for taking on this project.!

Wow! I have to admit that still life photography has not been my passion, but⦠every single thing about your work, Mary Ann, inspires me and has me wanting to learn from you. I have read every post and comment here and have looked at every image posted. I feel like I should get some college credits from all that Iâve learned from your helpful, insightful responses! I canât thank you enough for doing this for all of us! Shoot⦠I just may even set up a table by my window and try to put your words of wisdom into my first ever still life attempt!

Just from the improvements Iâve seen in the pictures posted after putting Mary Annâs suggestions into your work, I have a feeling there is going to be some mind blowing art presented in this challenge! What a genius idea this mentor challenge is!!! THANK YOU to all involved that are making it happen!

As discussed, this thread is now closed to further postings until after the challenge has been voted upon. DPCers may still review the thread and the advice it contains for one more week, then it will go dark as voting commences. After voting is done, the thread will be re-opened.

Good luck, all :-)

Thank you all and thank you May Ann for your appreciation. I love still lifes in any medium and yours are exceptional.

Reading this forum and the level of discussions and technical knowledge I was sure not to participate.
The thought of finding a physical place to improvise a still life, to use a tripod and find somehow some kind of lighting considering that I have none of what you people use was too much.
...So it was all a very quick improvisation and shooting and then for processing looking more at Mary Ann's work. I liked the result considering all but was wondering about how it will be received.
It might be a while before I try to do a tripod still life! Thanks
