I'm really surprised that SC doesn't either send me money to get my sensor cleaned, or send me a nasty-gram about how much work they have to do to validate my dirty sensor dust bunnies.

They're good peeps.

I'll work on it, SC.

To be honest, we just ask ourselves "I wonder what her FLOORS look like?" and shake our collective heads :-)

You guys probably already know THOSE are dirty, too! :D

SC knows stuff no one should know about me.

It's not just you. They have an Epstein-level vault of dirt on every member.

Haha! I love you guys!!! Just so ya knowâ€Â¦ I too get the heebie jeebies when I realize how Site Council knows the truth about my photography skillsâ€Â¦. or lack thereof. And they are so nice about it! When they send me their nice note about being validated, they’ve yet to say, “Seriously??????” Haha! Thanks for that :)

You guys obviously didn’t get the memo: all I had to do was to donate the hot tub add-on to the SC lounge, and they overlooked all sensor dust!

The heater on that quit years ago, and the company you bought it from, "Jersey Mike's Hot Tubs & Massage Parlor", is no longer in business. So it goes. We have a nice Sauna now, courtesy of our new owner, but he had it delivered from Ikea, the manual's in Swedish, and we haven't been able to assemble it yet :-(

Reminds me of the sign at Bob's Exxon & Chili Dog Stand....

"Eat here and get gas!"

Glad I am not the only one who cringes when I know SC sees my surroundings and what it takes to get the end product, lol!

This is why I would not participate in "Before and After" thread, the PP is still considered a "bad thing" by a subgroup of DPCers. I personally believe it is a very important part of the "making" of an image to your vision. But I am tired of arguing, some people would not change their views in a million years. It is just a pity that they are so vocal.

PS My Sony A7R III is second hand, it was OK till I took a long exposure against a bright sky. It was the worst sensor dirt I have ever seen! No doubt that the previous owner changed lenses on the ocean beach in a storm! I took it to the local photographic shop and they cleaned it. They said it was the dirtiest sensor they have ever cleaned.

I still use this camera so be gentle when you can see some of the leftover dirt that I missed in PP :)

How else can you fix certain things? Horizon slightly askew, cropping, sensor dirt?

I realize that some don't like how far you can go, but there's a world of difference between straightening the horizon, removing a couple of dust specks, and digital art.

What I see in my mind's eye and what comes out of the camera don't always coincide. PP is how I find my vision.

That said, if I can't get what I want from an image in three to five minutes, it was trash.
