With the ties this is fun to explain. :-} Prior 4th place HM was unable to produce an original file (out of town on travel).
This doesn't change any front page results because of the ties in voting.
Good time for a reminder: if you're going to be out of town go ahead and submit your original file ahead of time. |

| I'm not trying to stir up anything, but this is ridiculous. This is an archival challenge, so there are no date constraints on the image—perhaps she could have an archival-like allowance of time to submit an original. And this is Wendy(!) for goodness sake. |

Scott - I can appreciate your opinion. One of the factors in having a set timeline for submitting original files is that if there is a problem (i.e. - actual original not available, or edited outside allowed parameters, etc.) then the next deserving person in line would not get any front page time.
Consistency in applying the rules is important. It's a slippery slope if you don't. |

We have some flexibility in enforcing the time restrictions when circumstances warrant it, and I believe we have extended the deadline before for Wendy. She knows the ropes when it comes to submitting originals, given she's literally been through the process more than anyone else in the history of this site (see The top 10 users with the most ribbons...).

... and when you add in the HM's, it's nearly 500 times for sending in originals! :-O |

Hey guys — this one was all my fault. I was getting ready for a trip and ended up with an abandoned 4.5 week old kitten that has seizures, so my brain was in a fog. I didn’t ask for an extension, because I should have known better.
I have asked for extensions in the past for things that were out of my control, and the SC has been very understanding and helpful. But this one was my fault. Thank you for thinking about me, but this one was completely justified. |

Just made it home this morning seeing 2am. Picking her up in about an hour. We've been gone for 16 days. It looks like she's only had one or two possible seizures during that time. We've been through one round of tests before we left, and those were negative. It's going to be a wait and see game with her |
