Post your outtakes from the Baby Animals VI (ARCHIVAL) challenge here.

I had a multitude of images to choose from for this challenge but choose something fairly recent that I felt was a strong contender. Judging by the results I didn't choose well. I won't post loads of contenders but here was one from the same day that I also seriously considered.

Gosh that is a VERY hard choice - I love the up close softness of your outtake but I love the composition of your entry except the tail feathers on the left side of the frame :-( Darn parents always getting in the way! LOL

Thank you Erin for the feedback. I could easily have cloned out the mothers tail feathers but I had thought that added more to the story as the little ones were following their mother. But perhaps it just looks sloppy. Anyway I appreciate the feedback - the problem with archival challenges is choosing from so many contenders.

Thank you Roz for the feedback. That is the wonderful thing about art - the world would be rather dull if we all thought the same. I will feed back on your outtakes tomorrow when O am on the computer and can do them justice. My eyesight combined with a small phone screen isn’t a good combo.

I quite agree. I have one with the back leg of a female elephant plus the baby - similar "following" idea - and some have suggested cropping out the adult but I resist.

Isn’t that so true? What one person likes, someone else thinks should be changed. Just goes to show you, can’t please them all, it would be a very boring place indeed.

I'm sure you were.

I love the first one. The second one is nice too, but it really needs to be larger to do it justice.

You would bag more blue ribbons if you find the originals. Wonderful photos!

[Edited to fix typo]

I am so fortunate to have taken photos for a local dog breeder but I didn’t keep any of the raws - I had so many cute ones! I took a photo of all the puppies at 6 weeks in the same order and it was so cute, but I had to make a composition of it taking just a couple at a time and putting them all together in photoshop as they were WAY too squirmy.

Side note for anyone taking puppy litter photos: when they are that little if you put a heating pad under them (super low, test it first for how warm it is and make sure you have plastic between the pad and multiple blankets-puppy accidents).
