In the past it was suggested to do a Haiku challenge but nothing ever came of it. (see thread)
https://www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=1148589
So maybe now is the time to have our first Haiku challenge. The first line of your Haiku should be your title.

What is Haiku? Haiku photography combines an image with a short poem to link the essence of nature with human life. The idea is not to describe, but to allow readers to enjoy a similar experiential feeling that the artist had. Traditional haiku has a kigo, or a reference to the seasons. There is Hawaiian haiku, even insect haiku.

I actually think 5 7 5 syllables is a perfectly reasonable poetic form in English, but if you are interested in how English poets modify the form, including the one line haiku, here are good examples of the variety currently in use:

I'm not even a fan of titles being required and now we have to write POETRY?!

Is this a photography site, or am I wrong?

I found it refreshing - hope others gave it a try.

Not so difficult. I used a Haiku Generator. I edited the suggested Haiku a bit because I felt it was too long for a title.

I didn't know about that. It came up with some interesting ideas.

I like this challenge, but I was struggling to put my thoughts into words. I'm using the generator to help consolidate my thoughts and rewrite them

I wrote mine yesterday and was/am okay with it but the middle is not what I want. The perfect word came to me in the middle of the night and I said it over and over to myself in bed so I wouldn't forget it.
Guess what?
Yep, I've forgotten it :(

That never, ever, ever works for me.

I make sure I have a pad and pen next to my bed if I'm struggling with an idea or word, before I go to bed.

Yeah, I should have gotten up. I've come up with something I like better than what I had . . . but is it what I thought of last night? I will never know.

Only two problems with that. I don't know how to take notes on my phone . . . and I don't take my phone up with me when I go to bed. Otherwise, great idea :)

There's a famous story of a scientist who tried this technique; when he dreamed up an experiment that would answer his question. Unfortunately the next morning he found he couldn't read his notes. When he had the same dream the next night he got up and went downstairs to actually do the experiment, not taking any chances ...

Yes that can definitely be an issue - overwriting your own scribbles. I've actually gotten pretty good at it. Unless I just write a cryptic "clue" and not the whole idea. Then that can also be kinda useless...

I've been doing that for years but I never use it any more. But in the days when I bothered to post to my blog, I often needed it. Trouble is it wasn't just titles - I found myself writing whole blog posts when I was supposed to be sleeping.
