I use PS Elements 2022. Yesterday I couldn't get the reveal mask brush to work at 100% opacity. I tried some trouble shooting searches and fiddled around and got that to working. Along the way, I also reset all tools (though that was not the problem). The main thing I think I did that finally worked was fiddle with the foreground black somehow as it wasn't really black but rather dark gray. Anyway, I don't actually know what all I did. But, as I say, I finally got it working and was a happy camper.
Today that is still working BUT I have a much bigger problem. I cannot see any of the details for the specific tools that would allow me to change the tool setting. Here's a "for example" screen shot.
I have the Zoom tool selected (upper left). But I see no way to make it larger or smaller . . . and the usual "ctrl ]" keyboard shortcut doesn't work. It's the same with every tool. If, for example, I select the brush tool, I have no way to change its size or opacity or blend mode or hardness or anything I would normally adjust as I worked.
Does anyone who uses a late version of Elements have any ideas for me? I don't even know how to phrase the problem to a search engine so that I get a germane response.

Got it.
Not sure how but finally, after a complete shut down and new start up, I was able to get the Tool Options to show. |
