We used to do something like this once in awhile. Wonder if we have any interest?

Here's the article that prompted this.

I'm up for it. Always fun to see what different people do with the same image.

Excellent proposal. I have an image I'd be glad to contribute to the gene pool :-) A drone shot, natch... It needs a little something, and several ways to go.

Couple of things I'm not sure of the best approach ...
1) How to share an image / upload for others' to use.
2) Should we just post the edits as they are available, or wait so not to influence other edits (like they did in the linked article)?

what a great idea ..
raw files are pretty large .. would just a jpeg do .. just thinking of how to share them ..
i have a very slow internet .. so a 15mb+ raw file would take forever to upload .. !! ..
anyway .. i'm keen ..
and i'd leave all the details of uploading and when to share the individual edits up to ppl much more able to deal with that than me ..
thanks for the idea Barry .. :)

We can store a full-size JPG in our portfolio. If we shoot RAW, we can make a generic JPG as a starting place and store that. So everyone can access those.

Sounds like a good idea.

The side challenge way back when was good, think there was a vote afterwards.

That's a good way to start I think. That way we're not posting jpg's that have been in-camera processed already. Thanks!

Thank you for finding / sharing that Margaret. Not sure I have the time / energy to take it to the level Tate did. Maybe. :)

Ok. How about we start with two photos. We work them over for, what, a week, and then move on to the next ones? Post edits in here as they are finished during that time window.

I like what Robert said about saving a RAW image as a jpg for sharing / edits.

Sound ok? Will give this to the end of the weekend for more feedback before starting. Thanks.

Sounds good. I suggest if making a generic JPG from a RAW, perhaps just do some mild recovery for any blown highlights or clipped shadows, otherwise a flat conversion without any other tweaks to the RAW.
