I'm loving my OM Systems (formerly Olympus) TG7, bought to use for shooting from the hip, when I don't want to carry a bigger camera or when I carry a specialised lens like a fisheye. Much easier than carrying extra lenses and taking time to swop them, especially as my strength isn't what it used to be. It's tiny and fits easily into the bag I use for my phone so I never go anywhere without it.
I never expected it to bring me one of my highest scores ever and my first HM for a free study. Pretty good for a camera with a tiny sensor. And the noise at ISO 6400 wasn't too bad for Topaz to handle.

That's very cool. Handy to have something "handy". :-) Congrats on the Free Study HM too. Well deserved! |

Sweet!
I'm a cellphone only kinda girl most days now.
Wonderful shot! Congratulations, Gina!

Thanks Lydia. I rarely use my cellphone as a camera because I've got very shaky hands and find it impossible to keep it steady. The TG7 is stabilised, so it's much better for me. |

I was impressed, and I did indeed notice! I have a similar camera, the Nikon Coolpix p340, which I loved using but whose viability plummeted when none of its batteries would hold a charge in camera. I have 3 pages of entries with that camera, one winning a yellow, but many of them favourites of mine. The Ricoh GRs (1 and 3) are way better specified and pricier but not quite the same for ease of use...
Do more! |

I also like the fact the lens zooms without extending. It makes it much easier if I want to use the camera when I'm stopped at a red light. If the light suddenly turns green I don't have to worry about switching off the camera like I do the the RX100 VII so I get shots I'd miss with that camera. And it can stand quite hard knocks. Even dropping it from 6 feet will not harm it.
It's great for macros too. |

Have you tried using the Live Composition mode on your TG7 yet? I've been messing around with it on my PL7 for light painting type work...makes it so much easier. |

No I haven't. Nor on my OM-D E-M5 III. I'm too lazy to do light painting. Maybe it's time to do something about that.
I do use Pro Capture though. I probably couldn't have got a decent photo of the fish without it. It's much easier to use than CanonĂ¢€™s pre-burst. |

Seems like a cool little camera. It was high on my list for its underwater properties. I did end up with a case for my LX100. Enjoy! |
