| It usually works okay but tonight the app won't let me vote on photos in portrait mode. Is it just me or has this happened to others too? |

Voting in the app sometimes requires one to rotate the device so as to give more room for the image to display.

Would it be OK if rotating would not be mandatory but always optional? Please consider your own image is being scored.

I don't think that's what she was referring to. I couldn't vote at all (and I imagine she couldn't, either), no matter how many times I rotated it. Also tried full screen, closing and reopening the app, and going to a different challenge and back. Ended up voting on desktop, and now that I've voted on all 3 current challenges, I can't try to reproduce the error until rollover tonight.
Edit: it didn't affect all entries, just some. So it was (is?) some sort of bug.

I could vote on all the landscape oriented photos without any problems but not on the 3 entries which were portrait oriented (taller than wide) and shouldn't have required the phone to be rotated. With those 3 photos clicking on "Please vote" didn't bring up the star options regardless of whether I'd rotated my phone or not.
I felt it was unfair to vote on all but 3 so I had to switch on my computer to vote on those. |

Just voted on abstract motion and b/w shapes and couldn’t reproduce the issue. can you try to (re)vote on the problematic images and let me know if it is still happening?
edit to add: If I understand the issue correctly, you don't need to really cast a vote, but just see if you get the voting scale.
edit to add 2: There was an unrelated update of the app (Android) last night, so maybe the issue is "fixed" unintentionally...

Ok. I've downloaded the app (Android) to see how it works. It's not working well (sorry Mita). Opened up the Wall challenge, was able to vote on 2 entries, and now the remainder of the images have no voting scale (i.e. can't vote). ???
Also, why does the label 'Preview' show in the upper left of all screens? |

| Update for clarification; the images I voted on are in landscape orientation, and so is the next one (that doesn't show the voting scale). |

Voting in the app is not very intuitive at first (to get hints on how to use the app, tap the ❓ button at the top bar available on most screens).
Anyhow, images in voting show up initially without the voting scale and commenting box. To get those one should long-press the image while the device is in portrait orientation. If the image voted on is a landscape oriented one, then prior to voting one should re-orient the device into landscape mode. This allows the image to take up maximum screen area. Then one may bring the device back into portrait orientation, and the voting scale should show up.
That being said, there are reports that the voting scale refuses to show up for some users and image combinations. The newest Android version released earlier today may have addressed this issue (version 0.5.5). Thank you for testing this!

This banner indicates that the version does not yet include all intended features. The banner will be removed once the app is feature-complete (also the version number will then be kicked to 1.0) |

| Having a different problem with voting in the app. When I click on a star rating, I get a popup message saying this is a member challenge and I should try an open one. (This happens on both types of challenges.) When I click OK on the popup message I get a little one-liner on the bottom saying "Evaluating membership status..." and then almost immediately after one saying "Congratulations! You are now a member." Repeat ad nauseum. So I can't vote using the app 😔 Using an Android phone, if that makes a difference. |

Thanks for reporting. It should be fixed in the latest version (0.7.1) available on the Play store, and I'm told it should be fixed on the Apple App store later today. |
