Whoever the person is that voted my entry a 1 has a serious hate problem and no love for dogs nor a sense of humor. I can only pity you whoever you are.
It's also the only 1 in the entire challenge. What makes up for it though is that some nice and dog loving voter with a sense of humor gave me a 10. It's also the only 10 in the entire challenge. Not that it deserves a 10 but it doesn't deserve a 1 either. That's why the 1 vote is an act of hate and heartlessness and the 10 vote is an act of love and compassion. All the other votes in between are just true reflections of what voters felt the image was really worth.

Well, *some* people don't think Animal shots can BE candids, so DNMC. But, that aside, it's a very good picture, the detail is fantastic, the low POV is compelling. In my head, no good picture that has even a peripheral relationship to the challenge topic deserves a bottom-of-the-barrel vote...
FWIW, I got you covered here: Candid challenge, single 1, single 10, dog... Mine's in the snow, yours is in the sand... cool :-)

i love your pic and i think it totally satisfies the challenge ..
i almost feel i am there .. always a good think when i see a pic .. like travelling but not actually going anywhere ..
i'm so sorry that you got the vote of 1 .. its often hard not to take it personally ..
but thats the challenge within a challenge eh . .
