Curves to raise contrast in DPP, ran through neatimage, took into photoshop. Neatimage didn't take out all the noise, there were some sharp specks left in darker areas, so I used Dust&Scrathes, then I applied some USM, then I used Dust&Scrathes again. Cloned out some specks on his nose, no other spot editting. Applied some bicubic sharpening--downsized to 1200x800. Lighting was natural, coming through a window at school.

Suggestions? Comments?
Thanks!

This is an excellent portrait; I can't think of anything I'd change. The harsh light somehow contributes to the intensity of the photograph. I like it.

I think its awesome, love the eyes in this but I wonder if I would like it better if the forehead and cheek were not so blurred

I like this one, but I do think that the light stripe would come better across, if the left corner background would also be black

The cheeks and forehead are blurred as a result of F1.8 and excessive neatimage. Luckily, the focus is on the eyes, not the forehead or cheeks. As for the lit left corner, I think if I darkened it, it would throw off some of the symmetry, as there would be a visible ear on the right, but just black on the left.

Thanks for the comments.
