Although my reasoning will not convince most of you, here was my take on why I submitted this image:

I'll be the first to admit that my entry is an extreme stretch and completely understand the fact that creating life is a biological/chemical process.

But when we look at it in its simplest form, the creation of life is no different than building a car. Regardless of where human life is being created, whether a person has access to all the marvels of medical technology or a person in a third world country with access to nothing, their bodies will go through the same structured process of creating a life. Steps must be followed prior to moving onto the next stage, just like an assembly line at Ford or GM or any other manufacturer. Generally speaking, you cannot proceed unless a specific process is followed.

Mechanical can be defined as "Operated or produced by a mechanism or machine." Mechanism can be defined as “the arrangement or relation of the parts of anything as adapted to produce an effect.”

What greater mechanism/machine exists in this world other than the human bodyâ€Â¦absolutely nothing!!!!

Thus my entry.

It was interesting to see that those that could at least acknowledge the thought of using the human body as a machine were all fairly new members, while some seasoned DPC veterans struggled and simply discounted the image.

Thanks for all your comments. If I had to do it all over againâ€Â¦I would have still entered this image but without the ridiculous border! ;o)
