In the bokeh challenge I have:

Votes: 201
Views: 327

This seems abnormally high compared to my past submissions and my current submission for the other challenge. Is this normal or is there some reason for so many non-vote views?

Could it be that non members looked at the submissions, but can't vote on them ?

It's a good photo and several people have gone back for another look, perhaps? :)

Good job -- you have made a photo that affected the viewers enough that several of them wanted to come back for another look. Hopefully, at least a few of them, came back to tell you what brought them back in a comment.

Or it could mean that a few of them skipped the photo while voting and came back. Or they voted then came back to adjust their score. Or that some people looked at the photo at night and are now calling their co-workers over to look at the photo and laugh or marvel at how amazing it is. Ya just don't know.

Registered members can only view not vote. I think this challenge has created a lot of interest so many who would not necessarily view the entries are on this occasion viewing them.

Edit: Oh and wait and see the viewers when we have a nude challenge!

It happens in all challenges though no matter if they are member or open. For example, I have a photo in Movie Titles right now with 253 votes and 369 views.

Assuming you have a fairly large number of votes (in the 200 range, maybe) then the greater the discrepancy between views and votes, the stronger your image is. That's my take on it. people keep coming back to look at it.

When views and votes are of similar magnitude, that's an image that's not getting anyone to come back.

If you open the challenge at 12:01 o the day voting closes and look at the views/votes stats for the ribbon-winners, there's almost always a huge dsicrepancy. Then of course, later, as people check out the challenge results, that discrepancy gets larger and larger as people look at the winenrs and are no longer voting.

This is my take on it, anyway. Even if my image isn't scoring especially well (and they usually don't) I'm semi-happy when I get a lot of differential between views and votes.

One of the nonvoting views was from me, since I have decided not to vote in challenges that I participate in.
