I liked this photo from the Movie Challenge. I really liked it, but it scored my worse yet. I am trying to decide if I keep posting what I like and risk low scores or what? So please help me figure out why it did so badly. Be honest, that is what I am looking for.

ummm... i have no idea what it is and how it reflects an alien at all. if i had to of seen the movie to like the picture than your at fault for expecting everyone to know that movie. if i didn't need to see the movie then im at fault for being dumb.

its a good picture, but i think in the context of the challenge it didnt seem to fit too well. if it were an abstract challegne or something, it would have done much better.
and to answer your question, i would say keep posting the ones you like. after all this is more for you than for the other, no? |

Aliens of the Deep is a documentary about undersea exploration. Aliens of the deep... Its not that difficult. |

I was one of the 43 7's you got. I thought it was a pretty good adstract image. I also like many of the other photos in your portfolio. I may be wrong, but I think what this photo lacks is a main focal point.
Just my $0.02.

Thanks everyone for replying...I love abstract and guess it just doesn't always go over so well in the Challenges. This is a macro of oil floating on water...in a blue bowl. Here is the set up of the bowl.
Would love to see an Abstract Challenge. |

Hi Kathryn
It really is a remarkable photo, excellent job! Ironically, I can see the 'Alien' better in the thumbnail than the full piccie; and I would've just called the photo "Alien" (as in Ridley Scott's Alien/2/cubed/resurrection) . With 'Aliens of the deep', I think of a television show about the Angler Fish in the deep trenches etc., not so much as the big cinema pictures.
Still, it is a beautiful picture.
Cheers
