This was the sunset we had last night. This is straight out of the camera with no adjustments. I love how dark the sun is but how bright its reflection off the water is.

I love sunsets/sunrise. This is an awesome one. Where was this taken? Did you use a ND filter or anything?

Great Shot Scott. I love the sun coming up or down through clouds/fog. Can't wait to see what you do with it in PS. Van

This was taken on our lanai (deck for those on the mainland), we get a nice sunset almost every night but this one was different then what we had seen before. The sun was coming through thick clouds with an opening below. No filter was needed for this, what you see is what we saw looking over the ocean, it was pretty neat.

Oh and the temp was about 82 at the time, sorry.

Nice picture Scott, I also notice you captured a small aircraft at the top left about half way toward the sun.

It looks a lot like a plane but it is just a UFO, they get to be a real problem at this time of night. It̢۪s hard to get a good photo without one getting into it and messing it up.

You should have entered that in the light challenge......or maybe you have something better for that.

Nice!

Exactly what I thought! That is a stunning sunset - one that actually translate into a great photo. So many times, they aren't have as great as being there was.

Great pic - I'm amazed you didn't need a graduated ND for this. Clouds must have been just right!

The trick was getting the timing right, the sun sets fast here and the sunset was changing almost by the minute, below are the views at differnt times.
