I thought this pic just stood out for me, I would love some honest opinions from those more experienced than me. I am relatively new to photography, so need all the help I can get. Thanx, Darren |

Lovely shot Darren. An expression which could only be seen and captured by a man with 10 children to provide for ! |

The composition is good and it has cute value. I find the color/saturation/contrast a little dull and overall it could do with a little more depth and 'pop' or maybe a conversion to black and white or even a bronze quadtone. |

I think I like the black and white best, but the color also has a lot of potential. Maybe you could try the bronze quadtone that moodville suggested.(haha, I'm throwing around the term "bronze quadtone" as if I know what I'm talking about!)
I also wonder how it would look with the wooden frames cropped a little narrower - if you know what I mean.
It's an adorable dog.
By the way, I just looked at your profile and have to say I love that parrot shot. |

I think with a little cropping, the b&w would be cool.

Daztaz, are you sure you're not from Newfoundland? (reference to the 10 kids). lol
How do you raise ten brats- I mean kids (heheheh) and still have time for photography? |

I like that a lot better. Needs more contrast don't you think? |

Once again Dragonlady, I think you are right.

Nah, now you've blown out the highlights on the boards and blocked up the dark areas of the face. Do you know how to work with selections? That's the trick here...
Robt.
I've messed around with it in color; nice and loud now :-)

bear is right, you've lost a little in the board detail..i still like it though..but I think i'm a fan of brightness and contrast. |
