Hi everyone I have a question about indoor studio setup. Due to the lack of access to outside photography for a while I am in the need of some advice on what I should get to go with my camera to help me make quality studio shots. What I mean by studio is Close-up, Micro, Still life, and possibly portrait photography. I have a Panasonic FZ20 and a tripod. I'm in need of a hot-shoe flash and lighting such as clamp on lights, etc. I know I need the following but could anyone give me advice on what is the best I can on a moderate budget.
1. Hot-shoe flash - What is the best to get for my camera?
2. Remote
3. Lighting - Whats the best for say a set up around 6'x 6' x 6' box. Is there a lighting source that you can dim the amount of light?
4. Box - Best for back lighting and foreground lighting.
5. Filters - What is the best to get.
6. Anything anyone else can think of?
Please any advice would be grateful. Thanks in advance.

Best flash by common consent on the Panasonic forums is a Sunpak 383 which I have and works very nicely. Most other flashes use too high a voltage, and can frazzle your electronics. The Sunpak allows 360 swivel and 90 bounce. |

I, too, have the Sunpak 383 and think it is a very nice flash.
As for lighting and things, I'm still trying to come up with something myself that works. Whenever I take set up shots it's a very "make do" affair with desk lamps and stuff like that. |
